How to Get Out Of A Bad Mood (With Essential Oils)

by | Essential Oils

Need a quick pick-me up or a way to get out of a bad mood?

Use essential oils! Try this…

  • 1 drop of Peppermint
  • 1 drop of Frankincense
  • 1 drop of Wild Orange

Place the above oils in the palms of your hand, rub together and inhale deeply.

Wild Orange has calming effects which will help reduce anxious feeling or anger. Frankincense has warming and soothing effects and when these two are combined with Peppermint, this whole trio is uplifting and invigorating.

Aromatherapy works on our olfactory senses which directly affects the limbic system.

The limbic system includes the hippocampus (long-term memory), the amygdala (emotions), the hypothalamus (autonomic nervous system and hormones) and the cingulate gyrus (regulates blood pressure, heart rate and attention).

Because the olfactory system is so closely related to our limbic system (which does all of the above), enjoying essential oils aromatically can make you feel better or less grumpy.

So next time, instead of taking it out on your significant other, reach for these essential oils, breathe deeply and see if it does the trick.

It’s a much better option than staying grumpy or in a bad mood all day.
